April 9th, 9:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
You are invited to “Stand Watch” at the Cenotaph together with Canadian Forces soldiers throughout the day. This unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience will honour those who fought and died for our country. The Vimy Vigil will begin at 9:00 a.m., on Sunday, April 9th and will end at 7:00 p.m. that evening.
Just 160 spots are available for you to reserve and “Stand Watch” for 15 minutes at a time at four corners of the Cenotaph. All those who stand watch with the Canadian Forces Honour Guard will receive a commemorative Vimy 100 “I Stood Watch” certificate, signed by dignitaries in recognition of their participation.
A program of musical moments will happen throughout the day every hour, on the hour.
The Vigil is now fully booked.
We hope you will still consider attending the event even though you may not have an official registered "Stand Watch" spot, you are welcome to honour the soldiers and stand watch throughout the day near the Cenotaph respecting the remembrance and protocol of the Honour Guard.
